Finally uploaded Diana Belcher’s ‘The Mutineers of the Bounty and their Descendants in Pitcairn and Norfolk Islands.’ In the process of converting the book from epub to mobi, I discovered how to use Mobipocket Creator to convert the book. I ran the epub file through Calibre, but that program has a tendency to insert page breaks where they’re not wanted. The program makes the assumption that whenever it sees a heading, it must be the start of a new chapter and inserts a page break. Now there are ways around this, but it involves editing the files, and giving each heading which is the beginning of a chapter a certain attribute and giving that attribute a certain value, and then telling Calibre which attribute and value. A real pain in the neck. So, I discovered that if I open the content.opf file, which is at the heart of the epub book, with Mobipocket Creator and click ‘Build’ it will create a content.prc file, which I renamed to The Bounty Mutineers.mobi, and voila, I had the mobi version, without the unwanted page breaks.
